I am not a Giuliani fan
Not at all. Well. Except he really was just what NYC needed in a crisis, and that type of leadership is highly valuable. Just, he’s not so good when there isn’t one of the greatest crises of all time going on, and that’s the way things are most of the time—non-crisis—so it’s a talent only the worst events ever reveal.
Anyways, I was just kind of randomly doing some Gag-gle searches for transcripts of his speech last night, and what I found was many Giulani “full text” transcripts provided by many Obama supporters completely left out this statement, which Giuliani made on the podium:
“One final point. And how — how dare they question whether Sarah Palin has enough time to spend with her children and be vice president. How dare they do that. When do they ever ask a man that question? When?”
…not that I’m surprised the Obama people (sounds rather like Po-jama people, doesn’t it?) would intentionally leave that out.
I just wanted to point it out.
The New York Times seems to have the whole thing. Some other official news sources—not just bunhead bloggers—do *not* have the full speech he delivered. I am, therefore, required to mention Chomsky’s concept of “Manufacturing Consent.”
Also, despite my overwhelming NON-fan status for Giuliani, I am further required to state: “You go, Rudy!”
Boy does *that* feel weird.
In case you’re wondering about my “currently listening,” I’m currently listening to the naturally-occurring, tiled cacophony in the Frank Porter Graham Student Union…
