After a couple of consecutive weeks of miscreant miscues, the human error calibration for *this* week’s show fell within (what I consider) acceptable parameters:
Got lots of requests, and a heads-up that Liam Clancy (of The Clancy Brothers) headed off for heaven earlier today, hopefully arriving a full half hour afore the devil knew he was dead. Here’s another more comprehensive obituary at The Guardian.
Our 80’s dance is happening at the Cradle tonight, and I was curious if I could get through these two hours without playing Cabaret Voltaire and Gang of Four, but naturally I buckled. And The Beat. It’s been a long time since I played “Give Me The Drugs” (yeah, yeah) (I think it’s safer with drugs) (yeah, yeah), and I already knew if I played either CV or Go4 I was *definitely* playing The Beat.
Other notable stuff happening this weekend is Reservoir’s anniversary. The fifth. Saturday night, for sure.
